The Media Institute of Southern Africa Lesotho with the support of UNESCO Lesotho has capacitated key stakeholders including civil society organizations and the media fraternity on Media Information and Literacy

The Media, Information and Literacy project consists of the development of knowledge, attitudes and skills which are needed to evaluate the information critically, organize it and use it in an ethical way.

According to Mr. Mzimkhulu Sithetho, Programs Manager at MISA Lesotho, the project is intended to equip adults, youth and children as ordinary citizens and professionals with skills to unpack a lot of information they come across, before they can act on it.

Sithetho said it is also meant for imparting knowledge to the citizens so that they know the type of information at their disposal and encourage appropriate attitudes towards that information

He said the communication, information and media spheres are rapidly becoming sophisticated as a result of swift changes that take place in these spheres hence the gathering.
