Alliance of Democrats’ deputy spokesperson Mr. Matsana Masiphole says their constitution does not deny that the leader’s position can be challenged however it gives the leader only two terms in office.
Masiphole said this in regard to the list of nominees for the positions of National Executive committee, which is circulating on social media showing Prof. Ntoi Rapapa as the possible nominee for the party’s leader’s position.
He said according to their constitution, the leader Mr. Monyane Moleleki still has the last term as the leader and cannot be contested until his term is over.
He said the list that is circulating on social media was made by members who are using Rapapa for their own personal reasons to push Moleleki out.
Meanwhile, both youth league Chairpersons for Machache and Maletsunyane say, they support Rapapa to be their next leader as he has qualities of a true leader.
They say they are simply reiterating Moleleki’s advice as he has repeatedly mentioned that he is getting old and AD members should start scouting for their next potential leader.
