The Principal Secretary of Higher Education in the Ministry of Education and Training, Dr. John Oliphant has announced that the ministry will hold a two-day Curriculum and Assessment Symposium at Manthabiseng Convention Centre from the 28th to the 29th of this month.

He disclosed this while addressing the media in Maseru yesterday where Dr. Oliphant said the main objectives of the symposium are to provide a platform for stakeholders to reflect on and interrogate the current status of basic education curriculum reforms.

He noted that the ministry has implemented many reforms in the past years yet very little is known about them in the level of stakeholder involvement.

He added that stakeholders will further engage in robust discussions on the net effect of the current status of education and speculate the future of the Lesotho basic education curriculum.

This symposium will be the first of its kind to be held in the country.
