The Berea Child Protection Team -DCPT held a one-day awareness campaign to end Violence Against Children at Ha-Mohatlane High School.

In her address to pupils, the team’s representative Ms.  Ntsieleng Molise said abuse can be a cruel or violent treatment or any practice that intentionally causes harm, injures, mistreat, or offends another person.

Mr. Molise said recently there are escalating reports of children who are being abused and the worst part, many of them remain silent over what they are going through.

She revealed that the most common acts of violence against children at school includes ill-treatment or harsh punishment, therefore as the team, they saw a need to raise awareness on effects of children abuse.
