Prime Minister Mr. Ntsokoane Matekane says the country needs to work hard to reduce the burden brought about by non-communicable diseases in the country.
Mr. Matekane said this during the provision of Integrated Health Services in Mantsonyane on Friday, where he said it is embarrassing to see an increase in HIV prevalence despite efforts being taken.
He then ordered the Ministry of Health to ensure that within a period of 18 months, screening of Tuberculosis, three types of Cancer and HIV is completed.
Meanwhile, the minister of Health Mr. Selibe Mochoboroane said there is still shortage of Doctors and Nurses and the recent delay in payment of salaries has worsened the situation, urging the Prime Minister to ensure that resources are provided.
