People living with Albinism hold equal rights in all sectors of life.

The acting President of the Albino Multipurpose Association of Lesotho Ms. Site Khomo-ea-majoe Kinela said this as the world will be commemorating the International Albinism Awareness Day tomorrow.

Ms. Kinela showed that people with albinism frequently face social challenges as their condition is often a source of discrimination, ridicule, and sometimes fear and violence.

She said that, accepting a child with albinism should start with parents as this would spill into communities.

International Albinism Awareness Day is celebrated annually on June 13th to celebrate the human rights of persons with albinism worldwide.

This year’s theme is “Inclusion is Strength” and it builds on last year’s theme of “United in making our voice heard”
