This was evident at Machabeng Government Hospital in Qacha’s Nek, where doctors continued with their go-slow despite a stern warning to report to work today from the Ministry of Health’s Director General, Dr. ‘Nyane Letsie last Friday.
The Ministry threatened legal action against doctors who will stay away from work today, citing that, doctors who feel aggrieved should petition the court instead of engaging in a strike, however, doctors seemed unperturbed by these threats
Meanwhile, Lesotho Medical Association’s President, Dr. Mojakisane Ramafikeng said, they continue to maintain their stance of downing tools, until suspended Medical Superintendents in Qacha’s Nek, Butha-Buthe and Quthing are reinstated and paid what is due to them.
He said the ministry’s plan to threaten them shall not work.
