Some Basotho youth attending the ongoing youth empowerment forum in Maseru believe that, building networks in the industry, can help them stay on top of industry trends.

These youth regard the forum as an opportunity not only to pitch their ideas before investors, but as a platform for revival and growth; an essential part of growing networks for future references.

One of them, Khotso Phoka of Mahamo Construction says, to make it in business, one needs to know people who could help  their businesses flourish. Mahamo said, he is exhibiting his construction business  in line with carpentry and joinery adding that, after  this  forum,  he is hopeful that  he would have built networks that would enable him and his colleagues, to grow and be able to sustain his business

Sharing similar sentiments, a 24 year old Ts’epang Mohasele said, after graduating with BA in Humanities at NUL this year, she realised that, the need to learn and explore the world of entrepreneurship is vital, if she is to develop.

She says that, coming to the forum will help her learn from experts and her peers, and build connections that will see her through in her own business of selling clothes

The forum named ‘SEBABATSO’, is a government initiative aimed at empowering youth in various areas and  supported by United Nations Development Programme amongst others
