Stakeholders Collaborate on Sustainability Plan for HIV and TB Response in Lesotho

Different stakeholders held a consensus meeting today for the sustainability roadmap for HIV and TB response in Lesotho.

This meeting is part of curbing the high rate of TB in the country.

In her opening remarks, National AIDS Commission’s Chief Executive Ms. Lebohang Mothae said,  this event is a platform to reflect on the accomplishments of Lesotho in HIV and TB response.

Mothae said there is however, a bigger responsibility that Lesotho is faced with towards resilience on HIV and TB related issues saying, vast preparedness should continue.

On the other hand, the Chairperson of the Pandemic Committee within the National Assembly Reverend Paul Masiu said,  Lesotho has made significant progress in the fight against HIV but that, TB still remains a challenge

He said it is through collaboration that the country can effectively be able to tackle these co-infections.

Meanwhile, U.N AIDS country Director Ms. Pepukai Chikukwa said, there is a global reduction of funds supporting HIV as a result, there might be a scare of emerging new infections.
