SWAALES struggles to feed its beneficiaries.

The Chairperson of the Society for Women and AIDS in Africa Lesotho (SWAALES), has voiced her concerns over obstacles the organization encounters in securing enough food to sustain the registered beneficiaries.

Mrs. ‘Mamohatla Ramapepe underscored the difficulty of feeding the 50 registered beneficiaries, attributing it to the Society’s inability to produce enough vegetables, owing to the theft of the fence that safeguarded their field.

She said this hindered production but that, the person suspected for stealing the fence, brought it back but never put it in its rightful place as agreed. She Added that, with their fencing stolen and their crop yield significantly reduced, they relied on their personal gardens to feed beneficiaries; a challenging task, given the limited food available.

Ramapepe further explained that, with aging members, the organization is struggling to sustain its operations and prevent future theft incidents.

SWAALES was established in 2007 to help serve and feed vulnerable community members impacted by HIV and AIDS.
