BAP Deputy Leader Vows to Defend Lesotho Government Amid Suspension

After being suspended from the Basotho Action Party-BAP for seven years by the party’s executive committee; BAP’s deputy leader Mr Motlatsi Maqelepo has vowed to defend the government of Lesotho against self-serving politicians.

Speaking during an interview with PCFM today, Maqelepo criticised the recurring attempts to overthrow governments in the country, describing such actions as a detrimental norm.

He emphasised that, it will not be easy for this to happen again, as Lesotho needs stability to catch up with other nations- a situation he likened to a game.

Maqelepo also announced plans to tour all ten districts of the country to foster unity among BAP’s supporters.

He explained that, his efforts are driven by the dire state of the party and his desire to protect it from its adversaries.

Despite receiving a dismissal letter from the party’s executive committee yesterday, Maqelepo, along with Tello Kibane, has rejected the decision. He stated that, they will continue participating in party’s activities as though nothing has changed.
