The Officer Commanding the Mokhotlong Police, Snr Supt. Leabua Shale says, the Police from the 3 mountainous districts will exchange ideas on how to effectively combat stock theft, in a meeting scheduled for the 30th of this month in Qacha’s Nek
The 3 districts are Thaba-tseka, Mokhotlong and Qacha’s nek. Snr Supt Shale said one of the objectives is to acquire intelligence from other districts particularly Qacha’s Nek, with the aim of combating stock theft in Mokhotlong
He highlighted the significant importance of the police’s need to exchange ideas in combating common crime, saying, among the trio, Mokhotlong has the highest stock theft rate
In conclusion, Snr Supt. Shale said, this is the first of a series of meetings which will rotate and that participants will include, police officers, livestock owners, Crime Prevention Committees and the public
