Today marked a significant change of command in the Lesotho Defence Force-LDF, at a formal ceremony held at Makoanyane Barracks.

Brigadier Poosa Stemmere officially handed over command to Brigadier Motontolo Rakhoro, bringing his distinguished 37-year military career—seven of which he served as brigade commander—to a close as he enters retirement.

In his address, LDF’s Commander Lieutenant General Mojalefa Letsoela firmly instructed Brigadier Rakhoro, to carry out his new responsibilities with diligence and in strict obedience to military regulations.

He also congratulated him on this new chapter, while extending gratitude to Brigadier Stemmere for his dedicated service and wishing him a fulfilling retirement.

Brigadier Rakhoro has successfully completed all required military courses and has previously served as an instructor.

 His career progression through the ranks, has now led him to the esteemed position of brigade commander, granting him the ability to be deployed across various army units.

The event was marked by formal ceremonies, including the symbolic handing over of the flag, signifying the transfer of command, and was concluded with celebratory entertainment.
