A woman was shot dead and her three children burnt to death while two survived at Liolong Thaba Bosiu, last night.

Liolong Community Councillor Mrs. ‘Mabataung Tau said, it is alleged that, there sparked a conflict way back between two families, where one family claimed that, the family of the deceased had sent lightning to their son at the cattle post.

Tau said, the late ‘Mamasikane Lekeba was shot with several bullets before she died on the spot. She also said her husband was shot too, but had survived and is hospitalized.

She added that, the children who escaped are boys aged between 12 and 14, left with nothing except for clothes on their backs.

Reports said that, when the villagers came to assist, the attackers who fled, returned and sprinkled paraffin on top of the house preventing villagers from providing assistance.

The suspects remain at large.
