Lesotho Highlands Development Authority-LHDA has been urged to provide stakeholders with documents that will enhance their understanding of the implementation of Phase II of the Lesotho Highlands Water Project.
The Principal Chief of Mokhotlong, Chief Lerotholi Mathealira Seeiso made this appeal during a one-day stakeholders’ meeting hosted by the Polihali Operations Branch in Mokhotlong yesterday.
Chief Seeiso, who has repeatedly requested these documents in previous meetings said, they are crucial in helping the community understand how project-related issues should be handled to prevent unnecessary complaints.
He expressed concern that, despite promising to provide the documents, LHDA has yet to fulfill this commitment.
Senior Integrated Management Officer at the Polihali Branch Mr. Koali Hlasoa, assured stakeholders that, LHDA is committed to fulfilling its mandate regarding project implementation.
He noted that since the project’s inception, Mokhotlong residents have benefited, particularly unskilled laborers who have received Trade Test Certificates after training, improving their employability.
