The Alliance of Democrats’ Women’s League has strongly condemned the killing of women, the sexual abuse of children and the alarming rise in child disappearances across the country.

In its statement, the league expressed deep concern over the increasing cases of femicide saying, women are often powerless to defend themselves. It urged men to exercise emotional restraint when dealing with relationship challenges.

The statement also denounced the sexual abuse and brutal killing of children, calling for stricter laws that will ensure perpetrators face severe consequences. It further urged the government and parliament, to enact laws that foster a physically and mentally healthy society.

The league concluded by commending security agencies, particularly the police, for their ongoing efforts in investigating crimes such as child disappearances, sexual abuse and gender-based violence.
