Teboho Rantili appears in Court over Grievous Assault Allegations.

A man from Ha Mokopela, Mafeteng, Teboho Rantili, has appeared before the Magistrate’s Court charged with grievous assault after allegedly attacking a man from Ha Koki over suspicions of an affair.

Police Constable Thabiso Matona confirmed that, the police were alerted following a report of the assault.

According to Constable Matona, investigations revealed that, on the 22nd of May 2025, Rantili allegedly caught his wife on a phone call with another man. He is said to have taken over the call, pretending to be his wife, in an effort to confirm his suspicions.

Rantili reportedly arranged a meeting with the victim on the 7th of May, where he allegedly assaulted him with a stick, causing serious injuries.

Constable Matona stated that, Rantili was later released on M500 bail and is expected back in court on the 18th of this month for his next appearance.

Meanwhile, Inspector Hlapalimane Leluma has appealed to married couples, to avoid engaging in extramarital affairs warning that, such actions could lead to conflict and instability within families
