Matekane invites Youth & Stakeholders for a Job creation Dialogue.

Prime Minister Samuel Matekane is inviting youth and investors to a meeting this Wednesday at the Manthabiseng Convention Centre in Maseru. The aim is to gather ideas and strategies for job creation.

The Prime Minister announced this initiative during his closing remarks at the Sebabatso roadshows, which concluded this past weekend at Liphakoe sports ground in Quthing. He had been touring exhibits by entrepreneurs, innovators and artists.

Matekane praised the significant youth participation and the high quality of products showcased at the roadshows, emphasizing their positive contribution to national development. He also encouraged young people to continue exploring opportunities, including international business trips and the upcoming Youth Connect Africa Summit in Madagascar.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mokhethi Shelile, the Minister of Trade, Industry and Business Development, speaking on behalf of the Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology, and Innovation, highlighted a partnership between UniPod and Sebabatso. This collaboration aims to support Basotho innovators as a means of curbing unemployment. He added that, UniPod is open to all Basotho innovators, regardless of location or education level, providing support and resources to improve their products.

Miss Nteboheleng Matsoso, representing the youth at the event, thanked the Prime Minister for his commitment to improving the lives of Basotho through initiatives like Sebabatso and open youth dialogues. She urged her peers to attend the upcoming meeting stressing that, collective effort is vital for national development.
