Mahao Mahao has told the court yesterday that, he did not see any gun in his uncle’s possession from the time they departed from Maseru until they reached Mokema, the location where Maaparankoe Mahao was allegedly killed by members of the LDF.

This Mahao Mahao stated in his testimony in a case in which former army commander Tlali Kamoli and 7 other members of the LDF are accused of murdering Maaparankoe in 2015.

Mahao stated that, the two vehicles pulled up beside the car they were traveling in noting that, three men approached them-2 from the right side, while one appeared from the left side of the car, seemingly armed.

According to Mahao, the group of armed men who approached the vehicle were wielding AK47- rifles and other small arms. One of these men reportedly pointed a gun at them demanding that they raise their hands.

Mahao concluded that, he and his cousin noticed that, his uncle appeared to be weakening. He said suddenly, one soldier allegedly opened the car door, violently dragging him out by his face and getting him into the van occupied by the armed LDF members
