The Roads Directorate has met today, to discuss the progress of the road reconstruction project from St. Michael’s to Roma in Maseru.

Mr. Linehella Ntšere- the Director of Roads Network Development under the Roads Directorate; in an interview with PC FM earlier stated that, the road construction from St. Michael’s to Roma covers a distance of six kilometers, and also includes a two-kilometer stretch leading to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Roma. He explained that, the work began in January last year and has been awarded to China Geo Engineering Corporation.

He added that, crews are currently working on the road foundation and are on phase 9 of the 10-phase project. He anticipates the foundation will be completed by August, with the final layers laid afterward.

The entire project is expected to be completed by April next year. Ntšere concluded by urging all road users, to be patient until the project is finished, and to observe road signs to avoid accidents.
