Following the presentation of his letters of credence to His Majesty King Letsie III, Mr Carlos Costa Neves, the Ambassador of Portugal to Lesotho, participated in a commemoration ceremony which recognised Portugal’s sustained support to the World Food Programme-WFP in Lesotho.
The ceremony specifically honoured a generous contribution of 50,000 Euros from the government of Portugal towards the WFP School Feeding Initiative-a vital programme supporting food and nutrition security for vulnerable children nationwide.
Following the ceremony, the ambassador and his deputy held a productive engagement with the WFP team and officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to deepen their understanding of WFP’s operations and impact. Lesotho and Portugal have enjoyed warm diplomatic relations since 1976
