Discussions between National COVID-19 Secretariat–NACOSEC, Initiation schools’ owners and teachers, Principal Chiefs and Traditional Healers regarding how initiation schools will operate, still have not commenced.
According to NACOSEC Chief Executive Officer Operational Support Mr. Thabo Ntoi, these groups of people were supposed to have met a few weeks ago to discuss how initiation schools will operate under COVID-19 safety protocols.
Ntoi said they decided to wait for the re-opening of Senate as all Principal Chiefs will be available.
He said initiation schools need to have a clear understanding of what is expected of them in curbing COVID-19 infections before they could re-open.
