LCDYL Secretary calls for political tolerance |

The Secretary of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) Youth League, Mr. Selibe Mochobokoane has called for political tolerance; respect of human rights and transparency a cornerstones of democracy.
Mr. Mochobokoane made this call at a meeting between the Millenium Challenge Account Lesotho (MCA) and youth from different political parties in Maseru. He described political tolerance as accepting and respecting the basic rights of persons and groups whose viewpoints differ from each other. He said political tolerance also require members of the society to respect each other and make use of dialogue as a means of addressing all their grievances, adding that the current issue of land bill should not cause conflicts amongst the youth. He stressed the importance of transparency; accessibility to public documents and freedom of expression for democracy to work effectively, saying MCA has done a good job by providing a platform for land bill discussions. Speaking at the same occassion, a Member of Parliament for All Basotho Convention (ABC), Mr. Libe Moremoholo refuted allegations that they are complaining about the land bill because they have been influenced by their political leaders, saying as the youth they have a stake in the country's developments.
