Maluti Mountain Brewery’s workers who had engaged in a 42 day strike have finally decided to take the 4.6 percent increment that the employer has been adamantly offering.
The 76 workers had downed tools on November 21st until the 2nd of January seeking 20 percent increment and further opened to negotiations on 7.8 percent but still the employer was adamant that they could only offer 4.6 percent and nothing more.
Lesotho Brewing and Allied Workers Union Secretary General Mr. Fokothi Thite said that following their deliberations with the company’s management, they have finally accepted the offer for the sake of good relations going forward.
He however said that they still have to go back to review their constitution and the agreement they had with the management.
