Minister of Gender and Youth, Sports and Recreation, Hon. Likeleli Tampane says the alarming rate of violence against women and children calls for concern, and she condemns it and calls on men to cease with immediate effect such heinous acts.
Speaking during an event to celebrate King’s birthday held at Lapeng Care Centre, she indicated that Gender Based Violence against women and children remains widespread and concerning in Lesotho.
Chief Gender Officer at the Centre, Ms.Teboho Ntlhakana expressed appreciation for the minister’s visit, thereby pledging to further care for the affected victims of violence.
According to her, the Centre has 13 victims of sexual offence, assault and human trafficking.
