The British high commissiner to Lesotho said the Ambassador for a day, is a competition aimed at advancing and promoting girls to close the inequality gap in the country.
Speaking to the station earlier today, Mr. Harry MacDonald said the initiative started in some parts of Europe and has far been successful. MacDonald said the competition will include diplomatic missions from the European Union, the American embassy, the South African high commission, the Chinese embassy and the office of a permanent United Nations coordinator to Lesotho.
He said the competition gives women an opportunity to climb up the social leader and close the gender equality gap.
MacDonald said they hope girls from marginalized groups and from the highlads do apply to shadow the ambassador for a day and they are hoping schools will let pupils to apply.
He concluded by pointing out that they are also doing their best to support the country through their various projects.
