The Department of Ranges in the Ministry of Forestry, Ranges, Soil and Water Conservation in collaboration with Local Grazing Associations are currently electing committees responsible for range management in Mafeteng.

The activity is carried out at Boluma-tau, Sebelekoane, Ribaneng, Ha-Patsa, Nkhoana, and Morumotšo.

The Senior District Range Management Officer, Mr. Teboho Mokoaqo say the initiative is aimed at electing new grazing association members who will be responsible for range management within their areas.

He highlighted that each committee is expected to be in office for three years.

Mr. Makoaqo indicated that during elections, members are expected to elect two range committees that will be entrusted for administration and implementation, saying the major role of Administration Committees is to ensure management of the association and logistics while that of Implementing Committee is to ensure implementation of plans intended to improve and develop ranges.
