The principal of a school in Virginia United State has lost his job after a six-year-old pupil shot and wounded a teacher earlier this month.

The school board decided to fire George Parker after a lawyer for the teacher announced plans to sue the school.

Abigail Zwerner was released from hospital last week after being shot in the chest in her classroom by a six-year-old boy.

Her lawyer Diane Toscano said the shooting was entirely preventable.

Toscano said on that day of the shooting, three different times the school administration was warned by concerned teachers and employees that the boy had a gun on him at school and was threatening people but the administration was not  bothered.
