Principal Secretary in the Cabinet office Mr. Kabelo Lehora says he has received death threats from some of the service providers

The Principal Secretary in the Cabinet office Mr. Kabelo Lehora says he has received death threats from some of the service providers who are demanding payments after providing the COVID-19 services to the Ministry of Health.

Speaking in a media briefing yesterday Mr. Lehora indicated that the Ministry of Health had declined to be part of the Procurement panel that was established by all the Government ministries under the National Emergency Command Centre.

However he accused the Ministry of Health to have gone ahead to irregularly engage suppliers to provide health services without following proper procedures of the Disaster Management Authority, as well those of the financial regulations.

Mr. Lehora claimed that his office has recently been inundated with calls and people who demand payments from his office after having been engaged by the Ministry of Health. He also said he has been accused of refusing to sign the invoices of claims for payment to the suppliers, and has been targeted with death threats.
