The Speaker of the National Assembly Mr. Tlohang Sekhamane has urged Members of the house to study the tabled report of the Portfolio Committee on Economic and Development Cluster on the 2023/2024 Annual Budget and Estimates.
Mr. Sekhamane said the report has been distributed to members in order for them to scrutinise it before it could be debated from Monday next week. This will be followed by requests by each Ministry for budget allocations.

The Leader of the National Assembly, Justice Nthomeng Majara says parliament is running against time to pass this year’s financial estimates in order to adopt the Appropriation Bill.
Justice Majara said this when tabling a motion to change sitting hours of the House in respect of the 2023/2024 Annual Estimates in the National Assembly today.
Therefore, she proposed change of sitting hours for Mondays to Thursdays from 2.30 p.m to 9.00 a.m. and the hour of conclusion of the sitting for Fridays from 1.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
She said this changes will give members enough time to deliberate on the financial estimates which were presented by the Minister of Finance and Development Planning Dr Retsélisitsoe Matlanyane last month.
