As part of its 50th anniversary celebration, the Lesotho Red Cross in Mokhotlong is handing over some gifts in the three villages of Malefiloane area Mokhotlong to orphans and vulnerable children.
According to Disaster Management coordinator from Red Cross Lesotho Mr. Maine Makula, these gifts being handed over today that includes blankets, mattresses, soccer balls and t-shirts are from NED Bank, while hygienic equipment is from their humanitarian store room, and some maize meal bags from an Indian business man from Mokhotlong.
Makula says they have already handed over the same gifts to three villages around Mokhotlong town on Thursday after receiving them from NED Bank on Wednesday.
He says in the total of 65 children and 24 families of vulnerable children and orphans, 14 of them are the most vulnerable.
He also says these children were chosen as some of the victims of the heavy rains that affected their area.
