Lets’eng diamonds management has announced the recovery of 910 carat (CT) high quality D colour type IIa diamond last Friday.
In a press statement released on Monday, Lets’eng Diamonds says this is the largest diamond to be recovered from the mine and is believed to be the fifth largest gem quality ever recovered.
Since Gem Diamonds acquired Lets’eng in 2006, the mine has produced some of the world’s most remarkable diamonds, including the 603-carat Lesotho Promise and this is said to be the top quality diamond and the largest to be mined to.
This recovery follows the two diamonds bigger than 100 carats recovered at its Lets’eng mine based in Mokhotlong last week which brings the struggling mine a step closer to ending a drought of large stones.
