TB Day Commemoration: Time to Reflect

The Deputy Minister of Health ‘Manthabiseng Phohleli urged for much noise to be made on TB education and for dissemination of messages across the board for information to reach grassroots communities.

When speaking during TB Day commemoration at Naleli, Ha Rasetimela Phohleli said Lesotho needs to take the opportunity to introspect to detect shortcomings if any, strengths and to build up on the limitations.

Phohleli raised the importance to track patients on treatment and to enroll more others as the commemoration occurs amid the National TB Prevalence Survey which she said would help the Ministry map a way forward on financing strategies to curb TB.

She said the aim is to adhere to the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) target to end TB by 2030 hence the urge to reduce it by 30 percent by 2020 and in alignment with the theme.
