Members of the Upper House of Parliament, the Senate have shown their need for the COVID-19 vaccine as leaders of communities.

This concern emerged at the sitting of the House in Maseru on today.

Rising on a point of order the Senator, Chieftainess ‘Makholu Moshoeshoe stated that most of them come from faraway places therefore, it would be advisable that before they break for Easter, the vaccine should be administered to them.

She stated that as leaders of their communities, they believe that they were supposed to have been included in the list of people to be given the vaccine soon.

Responding to this matter, the Vice President of the Senate, Hon. Ts’epo Monethi allayed the fears of the members saying that arrangements for such an activity will be made and the members of the house will be put on the vaccine once such arrangements have been attended to with the relevant stakeholders.
