The outgoing All Basotho Convention leader Dr. Motsoahae Thomas Thabane has congratulated the new leader Mr. Nkaku Kabi for his victory saying, the journey ahead of him is challenging and will require him to carefully and closely be wary of the decisions he will make as the leader.

Thabane said his focus should be on improving the country’s economy and the nation and that, his decisions must not encompass members of the party only or his interests, but should benefit the entire nation.

Accepting the baton, Kabi thanked all party members who voted for him and all Basotho who encouraged him to join the race. He said he will always be open to criticism as that will help him put Lesotho in the right direction on fighting corruption, strengthen governance and help restore collapsing state institutions.

Kabi won with 723 votes against Dr. Moeketsi Majoro who got 607 and Mr. Samonyane Ntsekele with 84, during party’s elective conference last weekend.
