The District Disaster Management Team in Maseru is currently in a five-day training in response to Disaster Risk Reduction issues.
The training which started yesterday will end on Friday.
The Maseru District Administrator, Mr. Mpane Nthunya said, due to climate change, Lesotho is being prone to natural disasters such as storms, floods and COVID-19, which impact badly on people’s lives. Nthunya said Maseru needs to be prepared on how they should respond to disasters.
On the other hand, District Disaster Manager Mrs. ‘Mamonaheng Monito expressed gratitude to the team members for attending the training which she said will contribute immensely in the development of this country as it will be prepared whenever a disaster strikes.
