Roma Community through their Vatican Foundation, on Saturday handed over a two roomed house to Mr. Ts’eliso Shale at Ha Matobo in Ha Mafefooane.
The 50-year-old Shale is wheelchair bound, lives alone and makes a living by doing handicrafts. He was living in a small single roomed house which made it difficult to move around with his wheelchair.
One of the coordinators, Dr. ‘Mantsejoa Thakaso stated that, after realising the conditions Shale was living in, the community started a fund through which money was collected to build this house.
Dr. Thakaso pointed out that this is not the first time the community comes to the rescue of one of their own.
She therefore acknowledged everyone who contributed in the initiative and encouraged the community to continue helping one another especially the needy and less fortunate.
Shale who could not hide his happiness, thanked his fellow villagers for his new house which he said will enable him to move freely with his wheelchair.
