Four Basotho students have been rescued by the Basotho Diaspora Association following the ongoing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Four Basotho students have been rescued by the Basotho Diaspora Association following the ongoing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

According to a statement released by the Basotho Diaspora Association, one student fled to Romania on Saturday night & is still in Romania awaiting the Embassy to facilitate her repatriation to Lesotho and the Association is in constant contact with her & her family in Lesotho while another was stuck at the border of Poland for 3 days but was later able to cross into Hungary.

The other two students were individually able to cross into Slovakia and Odessa where they both went to Germany.

Basotho Diaspora Association said it is working closely with the Embassies of Italy & Germany to enable smooth rescue operation.
