Mafeteng Police are currently investigating a case where the Chief of Liforong in Tajane was fatally shot by two boys of the same village on Monday.
An Officer Commanding Mafeteng Police, Senior Superintendent Leabua Shale said the deceased was with his grandchild when the two suspects arrived at his house asking him about their missing cattle, which they suspected were stolen by the Chief’s son.
Snr supt Shale said, the deceased is said to have told them that he knew nothing about those cattle. One of the suspects then took out his gun and shot the Chief nine times before fleeing
This is the second case where the Chief is brutally killed by unknown assailants. Earlier, the chief of Ha Mphobe in Ts’akholo was also killed by unknown people who set him alight.
