Vodacom Lesotho Foundation has donated M650 000 to the St Bernadette Primary school’s Resource Centre for the Visually impaired persons in Maseru, as part of its Corporate Social Initiative projects.
Vodacom Lesotho Foundation’s chairman Mr John Matlosa said as part of improving the livelihoods of Basotho, they normally fund projects in different sectors such as education, health, economic empowerment as well as Gender equality.
The Chief Education Officer-Secondary Education Mrs ‘Mabakubung Seutloali applauded Vodacom Lesotho for its astounding support to the ministry, while the Principal of the Resource Centre for the Blind, Mrs ‘Mamoliehi Tamako mentioned that, the donation came at the right time when the centre wass on the brink of collapse due to lack of resources.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Representative of UNICEF Lesotho Mr Kimanzi Muthengi showed that, UNICEF has taken note of the challenges that the centre is facing, in addressing the needs of the visually impaired children.
