The Community Councilor of Lehlakaneng in ‘Maliepetsane Constituency Mrs. ‘Matebalo Mpeoa says an absence of a footbridge at the confluence of Ribaneng and Mokuto rivers, poses a threat to school children’s safety

Mpeoa said this is also a challenge to Khorong and Ha Sekhaila residents as they are unable to cross to either side of the river.

She pointed out that, during last year’s rainfalls, Phocha Primary School pupils could not attend classes regularly, as a result, their studies were negatively affected.

She also said that everyone was vulnerable to this situation, however, school children were the most vulnerable as they have to cross on daily basis.

Mpeoa indicated that relevant authorities have been made aware of their plight, however not a single regime has addressed this challenge.
