The Democratic Congress and Movement for Economic Change which were challenging the delimitation of constituencies by the Independent Electoral Commission, have expressed their contentment following yesterday’s Constitutional court’s judgement.

The court has ordered the IEC to correct boundaries in 20 constituencies which have been found to be non-compliant with quota set in reviewing of constituencies’ boundaries.

DC’s Spokesperson Mr. Serialong Qoo said that they are pleased with the judgement and hope that IEC will abide by this ruling and attend to this issue as a matter of urgency as it is a very sensitive and crucial subject.

Meanwhile, IEC said it is still studying the contents of the judgement to see how it will affect elections’ preparations.
