A case in which some members of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) are accused of killing three men in Mafeteng in 2012, is set to proceed on Monday next week.
The accused persons, Litekanyo Nyakane, Khauhelo Makoae, Tsepo Thakeli, Sebilo Sebilo
and Thebe Tsepe are alleged to have shot and killed Thabang Mosole, Monyane Matsie and Pakiso Letatabe at Ha Motanyane in Mafeteng on the 07th of April 2012.
Meanwhile, the court is yet to hand down judgment in a bail application lodged by some of the accused in the matter. The accused, excluding Nyakane, have asked the court to release them on bail. They have, in their application argued that there has been an unreasonable delay in the trial, adding that there are exceptional circumstances that warrant their release on bail.
The application was opposed by the prosecution which alleged that the delays in the trial were caused by some of the accused who at times rejected lawyers provided to them by the state thus causing many postponements on the case.
The case is before Justice Polo Banyane.
