The Quthing Police’s crime prevention unit will kick-start its campaigns to promote community policing strategies at various churches.

The deputy district Police Commander Senior Inspector Moeketsi Mokotjo said, the campaigns are intended to invite churches to join hands with the police in thr fight against crime.

Senior Inspector Mokotjo said, the campaigns will focus on the importance of community teamwork in crime prevention, the role of various community groups in crime prevention and the role of the church in support of crime prevention strategies.

He highlighted that, Churches and other religious organisations can play a vital role in crime prevention, through moulding of moral values and instilling of oneness through the word of God.

He also said, religious commitment also helps protect youth against using drugs as such often lead to criminal activities.
