The Committee to Protect Journalists says it is investigating all reports of journalists killed, injured, detained, or missing in the Israeli-Palestine war, including those hurt as hostilities spread to neighboring Lebanon. CPJ says, the Israel-Gaza conflict has taken a severe toll on journalists where its preliminary investigations showed at least 24 journalists were among more than 7,000 dead on both sides since the war began on the 7th of this month

It says journalists in Gaza face particularly high risks as they try to cover the conflict in the face of a ground assault by Israeli troops, devastating Israeli airstrikes, disrupted communications and extensive power outages.

It also says as of today, 24 journalists were confirmed dead, 8 were reported injured, 3 were reported missing or detained and that attacks, arrests, threats and censorship continue unabated.

CPJ’s Middle East and North Africa’s program coordinator Sherif Mansour says, journalists across the region are making great sacrifices to cover this heartbreaking conflict therefore, warring parties must take steps to ensure their safety.
