The Ministry of Health has launched a self-test initiative aimed at increasing early detection of cervical cancer
This cervical cancer self-test is set to empower women to screen themselves in the comfort and privacy of their homes, and the kit will enable collection of samples from the cervix to be sent for further tests
This screening option is eligible to women aged 25 to 65 years, aligning with global recommendations for regular cervical cancer screening
The Ministry highlights that the test is especially beneficial for those unable to access clinic-based screenings, due to geographic or financial limitations
The cervical cancer self-test is available at health facilities or outreach programs with usage guidance
