The National Director of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Lesotho, Mr. Lekhetho Ntsukunyane, has described the death of former MISA’s Director Mr. Thomas Mapesela, as a significant loss to the journalism industry.
In a statement offering condolences to the Mapesela family and the media fraternity at large, Ntsukunyane highlighted Mapesela’s evident impact on the growth of Lesotho’s media industry.
He noted that, during Mapesela’s leadership, MISA-Lesotho thrived in its mission to achieve media freedom, freedom of speech and media diversity, leaving behind a remarkable legacy.
Mapesela began his journey with MISA-Lesotho when it was still known as the Media Institute of Lesotho (MILES).
He initially served as Public Relations Officer before being promoted to National Director.
Mr. Thomas Mapesela passed away on January 3rd and will be laid to rest this coming Saturday at Maseru LECSA’s Primary.
