Combine Harvester Combusts, Halt Wheat Harvest at Koali Agricultural Resource Centre in Berea

The ongoing wheat harvesting at Lesotho National Development Corporation block farming of more than two hundred and thirty hectares at Koali Agricultural Resource Centre in Berea has been suspended due to breakdown of a combine harvester machine.

The District Crops Officer from the Department of Agriculture, Food Security and Nutrition Mr Katleho Mat’sabisa said, the harvesting of wheat has been carried out with a combine harvester machine provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Nutrition since last week.

Mr. Mats’abisa said, more than 38 hectares of the more than 230 LNDC block farming, have been harvested and 422 of 50kgs bags of wheat grain, have been harvested during the harvesting which started last week.

He indicated that, the technical problem of the combine harvester is attended to, and harvesting will continue as soon as technicians have completed.

He said harvesting is encouraging, further congratulating block farmers who will benefit from this project for their hard work
