WORLD BANK COMMITS TO DRIVING ECONOMIC DIALOGUES IN LESS-DEVELOPED COUNTRIES, INCLUDING LESOTHO

World Bank’s Country Director Dr. Satu Kahkogen has reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to fostering the economic dialogues in less-developed countries, including Lesotho

This emerged at the very first the Lesotho Economic Update Launch held at Maseru yesterday. The event was themed “Transforming Financial Policy into Engine of Inclusive Growth”.

The Central Bank’s Governor Dr. Maluke Letete underscored that Lesotho’s economy has recently declined with around 2.5% or less, following the US 50% tariffs. He said this decline symbolizes the need for serious interventions on the private sector’s faults, which are at the cost of Lesotho’s economy

On the other hand, the Finance and Development Planning Minister Dr. Rets’elisitsoe Matlanyane said this is the launch of the first ever Lesotho Economic Update report, which she said highlights the critical role of implementing an effective policy that will strengthen efficient country investment
