LBTS prepares to kickstart blood donation campaigns in the lead-up to World Blood Donor Day commemoration.

Ahead of World Blood Donor Day commemoration scheduled for Butha-Buthe on the 11th of July, the Lesotho Blood Transfusion Services-LBTS, will begin activation campaigns next week.

This was confirmed by LBTS’ manager Mahloli Rats’iu in an interview with PC FM earlier today. Rats’iu stated that, the event will take place at Butha-Buthe Government Hospital, and plans are underway to establish a permanent blood donation service station there. The event will also feature other essential health services, including oral health and eye care.

She added that, LBTS will collaborate with various stakeholders, including a representative from the World Health Organization. She urged residents of Butha-Buthe and surrounding districts to participate in this important event.

World Blood Donor Day is officially observed on the 14th of June, honouring donors and the hope they bring to recipients.
